1.0 Chain Reorg Handling in ETH 2.0

#1

Question and sorry if this sounds stupid, I’m not sure I’m using terms properly here. How will the 2.0 chain be aware of reorgs or sustained chain splits resulting from things like consensus failures when processing deposits made from 1.0 to the 2.0 deposit contract?

Are there a set of conditions monitoring the 1.0 chain for reorgs or sustained splits that may result in an orphaning of blocks containing valid tx to the 2.0 deposit address that are processed and issued in beacon chain ETH?

I asked around about this recently, the answer was that they’ll delay about 1000 blocks before crediting deposits on the beacon chain. That will last until 1.0 starts reading the beacon chain for finality, and then it won’t be an issue.
